An exciting opportunity is available for a highly experienced Senior BI / ETL Data Engineer to join a growing, data-driven team focused on large-scale data warehouse and ETL processing solutions. Fully remote role based in South Africa. Responsibilities include designing, building, extending, tuning, and maintaining ETL jobs and data warehouse processes using Apache Hop; testing and validating ETL workflows and transformations; monitoring operational data loads and resolving processing issues; maintaining documentation; supporting and troubleshooting user and data-related issues; maintaining Docker images used in ETL execution environments; improving ETL performance, scalability, and reliability; and contributing to better ETL and data engineering solutions. Requirements include strong experience with Apache Hop or Pentaho Data Integration, strong SQL and ETL development, deep understanding of ETL concepts and data pipeline design, experience with ETL optimization and performance tuning, and strong understanding of Kimball methodology (star schemas, slowly changing dimensions (SCDs), snapshots, data warehouse modelling). Docker experience is highly important and testing ETL jobs/transformations is required. Language requirement: Dutch understanding highly beneficial; Afrikaans a strong advantage.
